Vertex FC 18 is a B-group fluorocarbon elastomer (FKM-B) which is specially crafted for Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) resistance while also being resistive to a wide range of chemicals and oils at high temperatures. RGD is a condition where, in case of internal failure, there is a sudden release of pressure which can cause damage to the system. Certified to international standards – such as NORSOK M-710 Edition 3 standard (for RGD resistance), NACE TM0187-2011 (for use in sour fluid environments) and NACE TM0192-2012 (for use in carbon dioxide decompression environments), this material is ideal for Oil & Gas applications where maximum elastic retention is required at higher low temperatures.
