Fluoroslicone rubber (FSL) is a type of silicone rubber with fluorine groups added to the main polymer chain. This helps create a high performance elastomer that is stable, long lasting and has high chemical resistance to a wide range of oils, acids, fuels, chemicals, and non-polar solvents. Even prolonged immersion in these harsh chemicals has minimal effect on the material’s properties. FSL also has good compression set resistance, can withstand repeated flexing and maintains excellent tensile strength. FSL seals are able to function in environments that would destroy most conventional materials.
