About Vertex FC

The Vertex FC series of fluoroelastomers (FKMs) are designed to meet stringent industry needs across sectors like Oil and Gas, Chemical, Energy, Aerospace and more. Some specially designed elastomers, used as O-rings and Seals, have received industry-leading certifications like NORSOK M-710 Edition 3 for Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD), NACE TM0187-2011 for use in sour fluid environments

Special FKM seals are suitable for RGD applications and are resistant to Gamma Radiation of 5Mrad.

WHAT ARE FKM SEALS?

FKM Seals were first developed in the 1950s. It is a group of fluoroelastomers with specifications defined by ASTM D1418 Standard and ISO standard 1629. FKM seals were first used in the aerospace industry due to their impressive heat (typically between -20°C (-5°F) and +230°C (+445°F)) and pressure resistance.

FKM Sealing solutions like O rings and Seals, Rubber seals and gaskets have excellent resistance to solvents, certain hydrocarbons and chemicals, and other fuels (including petroleum-based greases and oils).

FKM, a high-level elastomer material, has been widely used in the oil & gas, chemical, automotive, aerospace, and energy industries.
