Vertex FC 04 is a copolymer fluoroelastomer (FKM) compound designed for high temperature and oil resistance, formulated at 90±5 Shore A — the hardest grade in the Vertex FC range. This high durometer makes it especially resistant to extrusion under pressure, a key advantage in applications like packing elements and high-pressure valve seals where the seal is forced into tight clearances under load.

ISMAT manufactures Vertex FC 04 with a high 90±5 Shore A hardness, backed by in-house testing to ensure consistent quality across every batch. This is the firmest compound in the Vertex FC lineup, with a higher 100% modulus that helps it resist extrusion and deformation in high-pressure sealing environments — conditions where softer FKM grades tend to fail first.
Because of this added rigidity, Vertex FC 04 is a strong fit for packing elements, valves and other high-pressure components across pumps, automotive and compressor systems. It retains the core Vertex FC strengths of lower volumetric swell and very good chemical compatibility, while offering the extra toughness needed for demanding, pressure-intensive applications.
If your sealing application involves high pressure alongside oil and heat exposure, Vertex FC 04 offers the extrusion resistance you need. Contact ISMAT to discuss your specific requirements.
