Cerulean EP 20: Softer-Grade Terpolymer EPDM for Heat & Weather Applications

Cerulean EP 20 is a terpolymer EPDM compound specially formulated for heat and weather applications, offering a softer 65±5 Shore A hardness with notably higher elongation than firmer grades in the Cerulean EP range. This flexibility, combined with excellent low-temperature properties and unrivalled steam resistance, makes it well suited for valves, pumps and automotive components that need to flex repeatedly across a wide temperature range.

Cerulean EP 20 properties

ISMAT manufactures Cerulean EP 20 as a 65±5 Shore A terpolymer EPDM, validated through in-house testing to ensure consistent quality across every batch. With an elongation at break of 300% minimum and tensile strength of 12 MPa minimum, this is the most flexible, highest-elongation grade in the Cerulean EP lineup, making it well suited for dynamic sealing applications that involve repeated flexing.

It retains the core strengths of the Cerulean EP series — higher resistance to a wide range of ozone and weathering, unrivalled steam resistance, and excellent low-temperature properties down to -55°C. Rated for compression set at 150°C, it’s built to handle sustained heat exposure without losing its sealing force, making it dependable in valves, pumps and automotive components operating across extreme temperature swings.
